Bella

Today when I got home I emptied my jacket pocket and in it I found an outlet plug and a small sharp piece of faded orange plastic. Both of these items were given to me on the playground by a smart, funny, 5-year old girl. A bundle of color and a bit doll like she stands beside me and says "Look." I look down. An outlet plug in her hand. She hands it to me and shrugs. She runs off. A minute or two later she returns. "I found a treasure for you." The piece of orange plastic. I thank her. She informs me that she is a treasure hunter. She says that she always finds treasures. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a folded piece of brown paper I see green and purple crayon marking the page. "This is a treasure map." She skips off to find more treasure.

When I come home from the end of a no doubt interesting day at work, I put my hands in my pockets and find something. Some days there is nothing, some days my pockets are full of small treasures and trash. I wanted to document this. If for nothing else but to remember my adventure in teaching.
